West End:- It was great to see an Osprey shortly after arriving at the car park. There was a range of dragon and damselflies by the reedbed during the working party. Photos of Golden-ringed Dragonfly and a Willow Emerald Damselfly. The Golden-ringed Dragonfly is usually seen earlier in the year and is more associated with heathland. Willow Emerald Damselflies are recent colonists of the UK and are now well established in Whillet’s.

Dam End:- Osprey distantly over west end at 9am (circled over West End watched by Work Party), 60 Great Crested Grebe, 5 Grey Wagtail, 1 Common Sandpiper, 150 Swallow, 2 Egyptian Geese, 3 Herring Gull, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Jay.
West End:- 48 Mistle Thrush flew SW, 26 Teal, 6 Mandarin Duck, 146 Mallard, 2 Greenshank, 1 Dunlin, 7 Common Snipe, 1 Little Egret, 1 Red Kite, 47 Pied Wagtail, 2 Great Black-backed Gull, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 2 Jay, 2 Green Woodpecker, Osprey again at 13:00 over West End.

West End:- (evening) juvenile Purple Heron showed in the same tree as this morning then flew high east at 7 pm.
