Whillet’s:- 1 singing Chiffchaff, 1 Water Rail swimming at Reed Bed, 1 Moorhen, 2 Mallard, 1 Kingfisher, 3 Buzzard, 1 distant Goshawk, 1 Treecreeper, 3 Bullfinch, 2 Long-tailed Tit, 1 Toad, 3 Smooth Newts, 1 Field Vole and 1 Shrew under tins, 1 Fox, 2 Fallow Deer.
West End:- 13 Great Crested Grebe, 3 Chaffinch, 4 Mandarin, 9 Mallard, 1 Greylag Goose, 2 Egyptian Geese, 7 Canada Geese.
Dam End:- 1 immature Mute Swan, 2 Wigeon, 2 Little Grebe, 2 Moorhen, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 1 Common Gull, 13 Herring Gull, 64 Black-headed Gull, 3 Buzzard, 12 Mandarin, 2 Redwing, 2 Grey Wagtail, 2 Pied Wagtail.

West End:- 17 nests were active within the heronry; but the white leucistic bird was not seen.  Three of the nests used by Grey Herons last year have Cormorants already sitting in them. This is very early for Cormorants which normally start nesting later.  2 Egyptian Geese were feeding on fields adjacent to the reservoir. Also 2 Buzzards, 1f Sparrowhawk tried her luck at the feeders, 1 Moorhen, 1 Coot, 1m Mandarin, 1 Snipe on Pintail Bank, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 1 Herring Gull, Nuthatch heard.
Feeders:-  Pair of Great Spotted Woodpeckers, a few Goldfinch, among the Blue and Great Tits were 1 Coal Tit, 1 Marsh Tit, 1 Long-tailed Tit, couple of Chaffinch and a singing Dunnock.
Whillets:- 1 Kestrel, Green Woodpecker (heard), 2 Wren. A Barn Owl was found dead in the meadows. It appears to have succumbed to the recent cold and wet weather and was very thin.

All reservoir counts:- 23 Great Crested Grebe, 52 Cormorant, 3 Grey Heron, 161 Greylag, 81 Canada Geese + 6 Canada/Greylag hybrids, 73 Mallard (31  Dam, 37 West, 5 Whillet’s), 4 Moorhen, 13 Song Thrush (8 Dam, 2 West, 3 Whillet’s), 5 Blue Tit, 5 Great Tit, 5 Blackbird, 5 Robin, 2 Dunnock, 5 Crow.
Dam End:- 9 Mandarin, 3 Wigeon, 24 Gadwall, 5 Tufted Duck, pair Sparrowhawks, 1 Buzzard, 1m Kestrel, 2 Moorhen, flocks of 12 and 40 Lapwings flying over, 1 Dunlin on dam wall, 141 Black-headed Gull, 2 Common Gull, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 3 Herring Gull, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Grey Wagtail, 3 Pied Wagtail, 1 Fieldfare, 1 Mistle Thrush, 1 Coal Tit, 1 Nuthatch, 1  Treecreeper, 2 Jay, 10+ Jackdaw flyover, 20 Rook, 1m House Sparrow, 3 Bullfinch.
