2012 Ringing Report
There have been two short ringing sessions so far this year. The totals are as follows:
Colour-ringed Grey Herons
Sam Bayley is trying to find out the dispersal and areas used by the Grey Herons that are born at Warnham Local Nature Reserve in Horsham. 35 birds were colour-ringed in 2010. One of the targets for the project is to see if there is any interaction with other Heronries, so any sightings from Weir Wood would be greatly appreciated. The birds have got an orange ring on the left tibia and a metal ring on the right tarsus. The colour ring is inscribed with three black digits. Please send reports to sightings@weirwood.me.uk and we will pass them on to Sam.
